Mold and Yeast Testing Results
Mold & Yeast Testing Results
Mycotoxin testing asks whether mold left anything behind. This test asks a simpler question: is anything alive in there? The answer was fewer than ten colonies per gram — the floor of the method.

Culture testing was arranged through FoodChain ID Testing and, as the report states on its face, performed by an external provider using AOAC Official Method 997.02.

| Yeast and Mold Culture | <10 CFU/g | Microbiology AOAC 997.02 |
CFU stands for colony‑forming unit — one viable organism able to grow into a visible colony on a culture plate. “Fewer than 10 per gram” is the floor of the method: below that, the plate has nothing to count. It is not a claim of zero.
Why we test this separately
Mycotoxins and live mold are two different questions, and passing one does not answer the other. A batch could carry toxin residue from mold that died during roasting, or it could carry live spores picked up after roasting from damp packaging or a humid facility. So we test both.
This is also the test that quietly checks the handling. Roasting at temperature kills what is on the bean; a low count in the finished, packed product says nothing recontaminated it on the way into the bag.
- Mycotoxin panel — looks for toxic compounds mold leaves behind, alive or not.
- Yeast and mold culture — looks for organisms still viable in the packed coffee.
- Heavy metals — a different question entirely, about the soil the coffee grew in.
Scope: read this part
These results describe one lot, sampled once — lot #12983284, sampled June 27, 2025. They are not a claim that every bag we have ever shipped was tested, and they are not a continuous monitoring program.
Two details worth naming rather than burying. This report carries no accreditation marks of its own — the PJLA and ilac‑MRA marks appear on report 22210A‑1, and this analysis was run by an outside provider on the laboratory’s behalf. And the report is issued to Roastify, LLC of Bend, Oregon, our roasting partner, so the name on the document is theirs rather than ours.
