Quality & Testing
— Quality & Testing
Proof, not vibes.
Anyone can print “premium” on a bag. Bean Reaper coffee is specialty-graded, small-batch roasted in Bend, Oregon, and sent to an independent accredited laboratory that screens it for heavy metals and mycotoxins. Below is the actual report it came back with — not a badge, the document.
Coffee is a crop, not a widget. A lab result belongs to the specific lot that was sampled — so rather than summarise it, we publish the report itself, lot number and date on the front. You can see exactly what was tested and when. If it looks out of date to you, say so and we will go chase a fresh one.
Every bean we roast scores 80 points or higher on the Specialty Coffee Association’s 100-point scale — the top tier worldwide, and the cutoff for zero primary defects. Supermarket coffee never gets graded at all.
Four heavy metals and nineteen mycotoxins, run by FoodChain ID Testing — an ISO/IEC 17025 accredited lab with no stake in whether we pass.
Roasted in-house by roast masters with precise control over time, temperature, and airflow — not an industrial drum running around the clock.
We roast after you order, then seal it in hermetic packaging. Typically only a few days between the roaster and your ship date.
The latest report
The most recent analysis we hold, published in full — methods, detection limits, lab signature and all. We do not post a summary and ask you to trust it.

“Not detected” and “<” mean the analyte was not found at or above the laboratory’s stated detection and quantification limits for that method — shown above so you can judge the result for yourself rather than take our word for it. Testing was commissioned by Roastify, LLC (Bend, OR), the licensed facility that sources and roasts our coffee; sampling is the responsibility of the requester. Results apply only to the lot identified above. Coffee is an agricultural product, so results vary between harvests and lots — this report is evidence about that lot, not a guarantee covering every bag we ship.
