Description
Description
Some mornings call for something that hits back. Dead Man’s Brew is our unapologetic Brazilian dark roast — a bold, brooding cup for anyone who likes their coffee the way the reaper likes his work: dark, deliberate, and impossible to ignore.
Flavor & experience
This is a full-bodied dark roast that leans into classic French-roast intensity. Brazilian beans give it a deep, bittersweet chocolate core and a toasty, almost smoky edge, while the heavy body coats the palate and lingers long after the last sip. Low on sharp acidity and high on richness, it’s the kind of powerful, satisfying coffee that stands up to milk, cream, or nothing at all.
How to brew it. Dark roasts love immersion. Grind medium-coarse for a French press, use about 1 part coffee to 15 parts water for extra strength, and let it steep four minutes before plunging. Prefer drip? Keep it a touch coarser to avoid over-extraction. Full walkthrough in our French press coffee guide.
Who it’s for. Dark-roast diehards, espresso tinkerers, and early risers who need a jolt with backbone. Find its equally shadowy companions in Death Row, and if you want the same darkness with a sweeter, smoother finish, cross over to Afterlife. Roasted to order in small batches and shipped fresh — choose whole bean or ground.

Tasting Notes
Rich and full-bodied with notes of dark chocolate, toasted caramel, and a smooth, lingering finish. A subtle brightness balances the deep roast character, making every cup smooth enough to drink black and bold enough to cut through cream.
Brewing Recommendations
Brewing Recommendations
For best results, use 2 tablespoons of freshly ground coffee per 6oz of filtered water. Grind coarse for French press, medium for drip, and fine for espresso. Brew with water just off the boil (195–205°F) and drink within 30 minutes of brewing for peak flavor.
